The Filtrete Ultra Clean Small Room Air Purifier has a number of features:

Ideally this purifier is suited best to a home or office, but it is worth reading the reviews on Amazon as the three reviewers who have so far reviewed the FAP02, only awarded it an average rating of 2.3 out of 5.  Read those reviews here.   Alternatively, the slightly different FAP02-RC was received better with 5 customers each awarding this air purifier a maximum of 5 out of 5.  So of the two models, the 3M Ultra Clean Bedroom Air Purifier – FAP02-RC is going to be a better bet, and its cheaper too.

The 3M Ultra Slim Filtrete Air Purifier is a portable air purifier for rooms up to 150 square feet  (16 square metres).   Its slim design is by Pininfarina, and it really looks the part in any room being only 4 inches thick (10 cm).

The Ultra Slim air purifier has sensors that monitor the quality of the air, and will change the fan speed accordingly.    There are three fan speeds in all, plus and auto mode.

There is also a programmable timer so you have total control over when the air purifier is working for you.  You can choose to have it auto-shut off after 2, 4 or 8 hours.

The filtrete electrostatic filter on this machine is 98% effective in the filtration of pollen, dust mite debris and spores from the air that passes through the purifier.  There is an indicator on the machine to tell you when the filter needs some maintenance.

There is also an ionizer with a separate on/off control to help improve the filtration, but the unit does not produce any ozone.

The Ultra Slim will also capture dust, pet dander, cigarette smoke and airborne particles that can carry odors and viruses.

This unit can be mounted on a wall using the mounting bracket supplied.  While the unit does come with one Filtrete FAP04 filter, it will need to be replaced every three months or so.

The Ultra Slim FAP04-RC has a CADR of 350 and retails around the $280 mark.

There are only 3 reviews on Amazon for this machine, with 2 people giving it 5 out of 5 and the other giving it 1 out of 5.  When there is such a discrepancy in score, it is sometimes a case of one person having a bad unit, or sour grapes for some reason.

Those who liked it, really liked it.  Things that they liked included:

1. Quiet in operation.
2. Slim case offers more options for placing the unit.
3. Being able to turn off the light indicators in the bedroom at night.
4. Automatic fan speed based on air quality sensors.
5. Remote control.
6. Large filter area.

What customers did not like:

1. Quite expensive.
2. Expensive filters.

With higher reported pollen capture rates and higher airflow than HEPA purifiers, this air purifier is certainly one to look at.

There is a filter change indicator that will show you when its time to replace the filter, and the classic design will mean this system will blend into the decor of nearly every home.

At Amazon, 21 people have reviewed the Filtrete FAP03, and their average vote for the machine was an excellent 4.6 out of 5.
